Smith is a wide receiver from Sandersville, Georgia, he attended Henry County High School where he was selected to play in the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Game after getting 32 receptions for 834 yards and 11 touchdowns. 


He played 1 season at Dean Community College where he had 43 catched for 685 yards and 6 touchdowns. After that he attended the University of South Alabama, While there he Named 2nd Team All-Sun Belt Conference after leading the Jaguars in receiving as a senior with 50 catches for 940 yards and six touchdowns. He also attended Cerritos College for a year where he played Baseball.
